Each year, firefighters from all over the United States and Canada come to Colorado Springs, home of the International Association of Firefighters Memorial. These men and women gather together to remember brave firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Honor Guards, guest speakers, a multitude of Pipe and Drum Bands, and the families of those being honored highlight the main ceremony, which takes place in Memorial Park on Saturday. As part of this memorable event, the “Ride to Remember” is a procession of motorcycles and fire apparatus, which marks the opening of the Ceremony upon its arrival. The flash and thunder of the bikes mixed with the lights and sirens of the fire apparatus is a grand beginning to the events that follow.

The “Ride to Remember” headed up by the IAFF Local 5, Wind and Fire M/ C, and the IAFF Motorcycle group stages at Pikes Peak Harley- Davidson. Firefighters are treated to free food and beverage, great music, and a friendly atmosphere.

Under police escort the ride rolls through downtown Colorado Springs, ending up at Memorial Park. Many thanks and much respect to all the sponsors, volunteers and contributors who made the 2007 “Ride to Remember” the best ever.
