From the huge complimentary breakfast at Kamilchee Trading Post & the Little Creek Casino, to the even larger “HOG Feed” at the Junction and everything in between this was a great ride and event. The lure of large cash prizes, a great route, unusual stops, a tour of Wolf Haven and a killer band drew more then 450 riders and over 600 people to participate in this year’s event. Add to that a ride in-bike show with trophies, more raffle prizes than I have ever seen at an event, The Wired Girls, The Jack Daniels Girls, free refreshments at every card stop (courtesy of Jack Daniels) and more. You have to wonder what if anything was missing. If you weren’t there then you were missing, and you missed an absolutely great time!

The top cash prizes of $1000.00, $500.00 and $250.00 went to local riders who for an entry fee of just $25.00 walked away with a pocket full of money and some great memories. The ride in bike show saw some really cool rides and the winners were rewarded with terrific prizes including a $500.00 Limited Edition Jack Daniels Leather jacket along with a nice trophy. The “all bikes welcome” resulted in virtually every make of street bike being represented at the ride, along with several tricked out trikes. Women riders also graced the event with their presence making this the most inclusive event I have been to in many years.

As usual Rex and Lynn Wolf and their first class wait staff put out a delicious spread of the best BBQ this side of New Orleans. Lunch was followed with a 2 hour plus concert by the New Blues Brothers Review. As you can see from all the smiling faces in the accompanying pictures everyone had a kick ass time.

For many, the true highlight of the ride was a special tour of the Wolf Haven facility in Tenino, WA. The Wolves were out checking out the bikers who in turn were awe struck by the site of these magnificent animals. Several riders told me that they had never seen a real wolf before and it was a memory they would always cherish. When the dust settled this year’s ride had raised more than $12,000 for the Wolves and Wolf Haven’s educational out reach programs, with more donations still coming in.
