ABOUT US |
Through the help of Coors Brewing Company, among others, the ‘Journey For Freedom Fund’ was able to give out two college scholarships on our way to DC. One recipient, Skyle Messer, (pronounced Skylie) was awarded a scholarship at a local American Legion hall Post #514 in Michigan, and another, a young man, Daniel Sheppard was awarded scholarship at H-D Sales and Service in Cleveland, Ohio. Both lost their fathers in Iraq. Skyles’ father was killed on his third wedding anniversary, and did the additional tour in Iraq to make enough money to go to college. The bittersweet message here is that, in part, he died for this country so that his daughter can go to college. Just so that everyone knows, we are only having one hundred core riders this coming year, and have already people signing up, so get off the stick, and sign up now. We are meeting Thursday, May 15th, 11:00 am, at Tahoma National Cemetery‘s Flag Pavilion for flag presentation and prayer prior to the ride. Nationwide ‘Journey For Freedom Ride’ commences 11:30 am Sharp! All are welcome to ride with us as far as you are able, and leave any bad attitudes you may have, behind. We travel as a family, and that bond draws us closer in the week and a half we spend together across the country. The one hundred dollar sign up fee entitles each rider to a (go to website) Ride shirt, Ride patches, (Big and small), and DVD after the ride. Produced and released by July 4th. The left over money from ride fees goes to fuel for support vehicle(s), ride snacks, and chase trailer maintenance, as well as, applicable insurance for the ride. Any questions? 253.221.9178.
